Celebration of “World Consumer Right day”

On the occasion of “World Consumer Right day” an event on consumer awareness was organized at IAMR college of law in which law students, lawyers, law teachers as well as serving and retired judges actively participated. The event was held in the newly built Moot Court of the Law College which was also inaugurated on the above said occasion by the Hon’ble Chief Guest Sh. Praveen Kumar jain (Former District Judge),President, District Commission along with Sh. Ram Chandra Yadav, ADJ, Ghaziabad Courts and Sh. Kamal Singh, Secretary DLSA.

After facilitation of the Hon’ble Guests by the college dignitaries and Lightening of the lamp ceremony, Chief Guest Sh. Praveen Kumar Jain (Former District Judge),President, District Commission enlightens the learned audience about the importance of consumer rights as well as the history of consumer legislation in India. Hon’ble Chief guest while sharing his vast experiences stressed how the present consumer legislation fulfills the aspiration and at the same time provides grievance settlement mechanism to the cheated consumers.

Sh. Ram Chandra Yadav, ADJ, Ghaziabad Courts also shared his valuable experiences with the audience and dealt with the practical issues related to Consumer Protection Act. He also lauds the college management for providing students with such a world class Moot Court and stressed on how it will add to a law student overall growth.

Sh. Kamal Singh, Secretary DLSA apart from dealing with the history and importance of consumer legislations also enlighten the audience about the importance of legal aid as a constitutional obligation and the work done by the Government of India in this regard.

At last vote of thanks was given to the Hon’ble guests on behalf of IAMR Group of Institution by the Hon’ble Director Sh. Pradeep Kumar Vasistha. He also thanked the guests, lawyers, faculty members as well as the students for making the event a success.
